The MMQBI know what Julian Edelman posted on Instagram in the wake of the suspension news (“I don’t know what happened”) came off as a little weird, but there is an explanation for it. I was told Edelman’s result was triggered by a substance that wasn’t immediately recognizable, and there are scientists analyzing it. And as to the timing, the test did happen during the offseason (a couple months ago), which means it’s not for any kind of stimulant. You might remember the rash of players saying they got popped for Adderall—the rules have changed now so that offseason use of stimulants falls under the substances of abuse policy, rather than the PED policy

I've been a Patriots fan all my life. Which means I've been putting up with the hate and the scrutiny since I could walk. Don't get me wrong, I get it. I'd hate us too if I wasn't already a fan. Part of it stems from the same reason a lot of people (including myself) don't like Lebron James. Complete and total dominance of a league for 15 years really gets under peoples skin. It seems like the person bothered by the Patriots dominance the most, though, is commissioner ROger Goodell. JULIAN EDELMAN WAS SUSPENDED FOR AN UNKOWN SUBSTANCE. Someone explain to me, how in the world can a substance that scientist can't identify is against the league PED policy? This suspension is coming from a test preformed during the offseason, during the spring. The most affluent league in the country hasn't been able to identify this substance with months of testing. MONTHS. This has to be second to the deflate gate suspension where the NFL is just trying to give the rest of the league some time to catch up. Edelman is innocent, Goodell should be fired. I can't believe some of you will read this and take the side of the guy who tried to say that concussions don't come from football. Who's the bigger idiot in that case?

PS. If you're one of the people saying his catch in Super Bowl Li doesn't count because of this "report", you're coming off stupid. It's the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.
