E-Sports time to shine

The NHL season and NBA season have ended. That leaves us in the slowest part of the year for sports (great time to start a blog, right?). Baseball might still be going on but for many of us, who aren't baseball diehards, its quite a challenge to be devoting attention to the the 60th game of the season when there is still (roughly) 100 more games to play. This is the best opportunity E-Sports has to make an impact. If you haven't heard of it, E-Sports is basically just competitive video games. yeah, competitive video games. Remember, the things or parents said were never going to do anything besides rot our brains? Well, some people are making upwards of six-figures off of steaming popular games like fortnite on Twitch. Tomorrow is the E3 ProAm, one of the most anticipated events in the gaming community. Popular twitch streamers are being pared up with athletes, actors, musicians and other popular public figures. Still think this is a waste of time? The winner of the tournament gets a $3 million dollars AND you can gamble on it. Ninja (one of the most popular streamers on twitch) opened up at +1000 odds and is partnered with popular DJ Marshmello. Here's a full list of matches if you're curious. Some of the other big celebrity names include Paul George, Andre Drummond, Vince Staples, and Lil Yachty. Just to name a few. Profiles for a few of the duos will be up later today.
